Alabama One CU Adds Ipswitch’s WhatsUp Gold Network Management

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama One CU said it has signed with Ipswitch Inc. to implement the company’s WhatsUp Gold network management solution for its 10 branches, including 738 monitors and 132 critical network devices.

The company said the system includes features such as continuous network tuning for optimal performance, instant notification of down devices and the ability to proactively manage network resources.

The IT department of the $85 million credit union, which required customization to the WhatsUp Gold setup, including an SQL back-end and multiple redundant systems, also relied on the WhatsUp Gold support team for telephone assistance and received point-by-point instructions on customizing the setup, the company said.

Alabama One was known as BF Goodrich Employees FCU until 2009 after a merger with Alabama 1st Capital CU.

Ipswitch is based in Lexington, Mass.
