Alaska CU Launches ‘Social Impact Map’

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Credit Union 1 has launched what it is calling a “Social Impact Map,” a solution that allows it to display its “giving activity” as part of a broader cause-marketing strategy.

“From workforce volunteering to financial grants and services, the Social Impact Map is an automated way for fans, employees, and members to update and stay connected with their giving story,” the credit union said. The Map is based on a solution from CafeGive’s social impact platform. Credit Union 1’s staff donated more than 3,000 hours per year of their time, in addition to several hundred thousand dollars.

The app gathers locations where an organization and its employees donate time and money, along with associated Facebook conversations, tweets, and photos all on one page. Administrators can add locations, hours, and amounts donated at any time, as well as manage which posts show within the app. The Social Impact Map includes a robust metrics system so administrators can measure direct impact in dollars and numbers of people reached, according to the company.
