Alaska USA Insurance Brokers in Anchorage has agreed to sell its commercial insurance and employee benefits books of business to Acrisure in Caledonia, Mich.
The deal closed in mid-December, Alaska USA said in a press release. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Alaska USA Insurance Brokers, a unit of Alaska USA Federal Credit Union, will continue to operate as a personal-lines insurance agency. The unit's entire infrastructure – supporting commercial insurance clients, including all employees and offices – has been transferred to Insurance Brokers of Alaska, an agency partner of Acrisure.
Acrisure is among the largest insurance brokerage in the nation, operating 100 agencies in 27 states.
"As a result of this transaction, commercial insurance clients will benefit from broader industry experience, access to a greater variety of carriers and the availability of valuable services such as loss mitigation and risk management," Bill Eckhardt, chairman of Alaska USA Insurance Brokers, said in the release.
