The three-story, 16,181-square-foot building was gutted and reconstructed to meet contemporary building standards, the credit union said. Some of the construction upgrades include asbestos abatement, seismic structural upgrades, elevator replacement and three covered drive-thru lanes. Alaska USA acquired the property in 2009 as part of a deal for Members Own FCU.

The new branch, which will occupy a building first constructed in 1971, will be open for business and tours on May 20. The building will include a third-floor break and training room, special services floor, and a ground level branch.
