Altura CU Doubles Commitment to Local Students With $42,000 in Scholarships

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Altura CU announced yesterday it had awarded $1,000 scholarships to 42 graduating high school seniors, almost double last year’s $20,000 in awards.

A record number of 327 students applied for the grants this year. The program is open to all Riverside County high school seniors who planned on enrolling in an accredited post-secondary institution in 2008.

The former education-based credit union has awarded more than $200,000 in scholarships since the inception of the program.
