RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Altura CU plans to award $40,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Riverside County high schools who are planning to attend college in the fall.
This year, 25 general scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded, including up to four memorial scholarships. Ten scholarships of $1,000 will be awarded to students who are planning to attend and who are accepted to University of California, Riverside.
Five additional scholarships of $1,000 have been designated for students participating in AVID programs in Riverside County Schools. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college-readiness system designed to increase the number of students who enroll in four-year colleges.
