JACKSON, Mich. – American 1 FCU pledged more than $60,000 Friday to sponsor Jackson County’s annual Rose Parade, whose future had been in doubt. The credit union pledge comes after the Rose Festival’s budget was depleted by June’s parade and the board was left with $3,000 in bills. The credit union also has pledged to help with community fundraising and volunteers. The Rose Parade, which includes a picnic and fireworks display, began in 1958 and allows schools, scout troops, churches, civic organizations and businesses to promote themselves.
