American Express, Count Me In To Target Women-Owned Businesses

Data shows that women-owned small businesses grew 17% between 1997-2004 vs. an overall pace of 9%, yet many women often don't seek bank financing. For that reason and others, American Express and Count Me In, a group dedicated to women's economic independence, have launched the "Make Mine a $Million Business" program. The program is aimed at helping women-owned companies in operation at least two years obtain financing for growth.
