AUSTIN, Texas Amplify FCU has installed Rise Performance Group’s CheckPoint 360 leadership training and development system for job applicants.
Amplify said its use of the CheckPoint 360 system is expanding its leadership training and development efforts. In 2012 the credit union focused on coaching for its top executives, while this year the emphasis is on middle managers.
With the CheckPoint 360 system, managers are assessed based on the feedback of their superiors, their peers and the people they manage, Rise Performance said. The tool focuses on eight management competencies, and once the assessment is complete, managers receive individual development plans and guidance regarding ways they can improve and be more effective. Subsequent applications of the CheckPoint 360 system can then assess how well managers have improved.
“We are looking to assess our future talent and prepare these managers for the next level,” said Denise Hart, vice president of human resources at the $610-million credit union. “We will be using the CheckPoint 360 system over the next two years, and Rise Performance Group is customizing some of the training that will be included in the leadership development program that we will be offering. Not only are we looking to groom new leaders, but to improve the leadership team overall for the benefit of all employees and our credit union members.”
