An Actual Win-Win Situation For Affinity Member
A local credit union here beat the television show "Extreme Home Makeover" to the punch.
Affinity FCU had come to the aid of Beverly Turner and her nine adopted children shortly after their house burned down last fall, starting a collection drive for the purpose of presenting Ms. Turner with kitchen appliances once she was settled in her restored home. Not long thereafter, however, Turner and her family subsequently became the recipients of a fully furnished new home courtesy of the hit ABC television show. Affinity employees then decided to present Ms. Turner with gift certificates-$1,000 to the supermarket she frequents and $1,000 in American Express gift checks. Ms. Turner said she plans to give each of her children one gift check for buying new clothes as most of their belongings had been destroyed in the fire.
