BATON ROUGE, La. - (04/19/06) -- TraceSecurity announced it isproviding its anti-phishing software free to credit unions andbanks. Called the TraceAssure Site Authentication toolbar, at leastone credit union, Florida Commerce CU, has downloaded the softwareand began offering the system to members. The system is a toolbarthat shows up on a web browser and it works by checking detailsabout the website, including the domain, the IP address being usedby a site, a list of approved domains, and those domains' real IPaddresses. If the domain and IP address don't match up, then theTraceAssure toolbar will show that the site isn't safe.
