ATHENS, Ga. – A fleeing robber was captured just minutes after he held-up the Georgia FCU branch Monday afternoon.
Officers caught Clarence Dake as he ran toward a getaway car he had left at a vacant house nearby.
Dake, 45, walked into the credit union shortly before 2 p.m., wearing a mask and claiming to have a gun, police said. He fled through a back door and down a trail leading into the residential neighborhood.
Dake ran behind a house, where the officer found him hiding in a corner between the house and a porch.
Officers retrieved the money bag and stolen cash from the roof of a vacant house.
