NASHVILLE, Tenn. - (11/04/04) -- A security guard shot and killed asuspect in two armed robberies Wednesday afternoon here just as thesuspect was preparing to rob Courthouse CU. The suspect, who wasidentified as Brian Schweitzer, 34, a former metropolitan policeofficer, is believed to have who robbed Rutherford Bank and Trustand US Bank in nearby towns earlier Wednesday morning. The guard,an off-duty police officer named Shawn Taylor, heard thedescription of the suspect in the two earlier bank robberies, thensaw a man who fit the description pull up in the parking lotoutside the credit union. When Taylor identified himself Schweitzertried to flee and fired four shot at Taylor, according to police.Then Taylor shot Schweitzer.
