Assailants Fail To Break Into SECU ATM

LEXINGTON, N.C. – Two men were arrested after authorities said they were caught trying to break into an SECU ATM on Sunday morning.

The two were arrested after police responded to a 10:30 am alarm and found them trying to break into the machine, with one of them inside the small building housing the ATM. The suspects had a cutting torch, a wheeled cart and burglary tools, and had opened the ATM.

The men were charged with breaking and entering, safecracking, possession of burglary tools, malicious damage to real property and possession of stolen goods.
