LAS VEGAS - (11/18/04) -- The banks aren't just unified intheir message about credit unions before legislators. One bankerwho spoke with The Credit Union Journal said at the two banks atwhich he has most recently worked it was acknowledged that the bankcould not beat rival credit unions' pricing or levels of service.Instead, he said, bank reps were trained, when confronted by asmall business owner or customer who wouldn't move their businessto the bank from a credit union, to respond by saying, "Yes, butthey're just not very convenient, are they?"
