WASHINGTON - (01/19/06) In a page taken from the creditunion playbook, bank giants Wachovia and U.S. Bank said Wednesdaythey have signed with the National Restaurant Association toprovide financial services through an affinity program for thenations restaurant workers. The Restaurant Direct programwill provide free checking and Visa check card, free Internetbanking, free ATM transactions, loan discounts (including carloans), investment services, special rates on deposits, and otherbenefits. The National Restaurant Association is comprised of925,000 restaurants and food outlets with about 12.5 millionemployees.
