State regulators have approved a request from Belco Community CU to convert to a community charter covering more than two million people in seven surrounding counties, one of the largest community fields of membership ever approved as a state charter in Pennsylvania.
The $250-million credit union currently serves about 700 select groups in the Harrisburg area. The new community charter will allow it to serve the counties of Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Perry and York.
