DENVER – Bellco CU, the state’s second largest credit union, announced yesterday is has agreed to acquire Great American Community CU, an ailing $22 million credit union in Grand Junction.

Great American reported a loss of $530,000 for the first three quarters of the year, and losses for four of the past five quarters.
The merger will give $2 billion Bellco two additional branches and 4,500 members in Mesa, Garfield, Moffat and Rio Blanco counties. The addition of Great American increases Bellco’s branch network to 17.
