FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – An explosive device detonated at a Virginia CU ATM early this morning failed to access the cash but left a charred machine.
The ATM had scorch marks and some damage but was still intact and functioning, said police, who responded to the explosion called in by a neighbor.
The caller said the 4 am explosion set off car alarms in the nearby apartment complex.
A security video at the credit union later confirmed that some sort of explosive device went off about 4 am.
