SAN DIEGO - Delegates of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues voted to move forward with a fourth year of the $6-million-plus public advocacy campaign at their annual meetings here yesterday.
Nevada Delegates voted in favor of the campaign in a unanimous voice vote, followed by a 4,130-to-182 ballot vote by the California delegates later that day.
Although the budget for next year's campaign has yet to be determined, the 2007 budget was $6.25 million.
"I just continue to be amazed by the strong support of our members," CCUL and NCUL CEO Bill Cheney told Credit Union Journal. "They were forward thinking when they approved it three years ago, and it shows why the movement is so strong because they are willing to come together for the good of all credit unions."
