McPheters is the second CEO of a large San Diego credit union to announce his retirement this week, joining Ron Martin of Mission FCU.

McPheters, who has over 35 years experience in credit unions, took over the credit union when it had $100 million in assets. California Coast bucked the trend among Southern California credit unions and reported net income of $600,000.

After McPheters’ retirement, Senior Vice President Kathy Cady will serve as interim CEO until a permanent president is hired.
