RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. - The California/Nevada CU Leagues has become the latest CU association to roll out a solution in response to the Affordable Health Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
The California/Nevada leagues has signed with Digital Benefits Marketplace to offer a private benefits exchange option for their credit unions looking for a solution in response to the new health care rules.
Digital Benefit Advisors, a division of Digital Insurance and of Fidelity National Financial, said it will manage the private benefits exchange, helping credit unions and their employees to "better manage costs and navigate the complexities of health care reform."
Access to the exchange, Digital Benefits Marketplace, will be offered through the leagues' benefits solution site, CUVitality.
Offerings will include health, life, disability, accident, critical illness, long-term care, dental and vision insurance and more. The private exchange will open Oct. 1 for plan dates effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Digital Insurance recently bought out the CUNA Mutual health care business and contracted with the CU insurer as its exclusive employee benefits solution for credit unions.
The deal follows a similar contract with the Pennsylvania CU Association. In Nebraska and Iowa, more than 40 CUs have signed on with CoOpporutunity Health, and in Birmingham, Ala., EPL has also been leading a health care exchange effort.
