Capital CU Uses Legal Settlement For $500,000 Charitable Fund

KIMBERLY, Wis. – Capital CU said it will use a $437,000 settlement as part of a class-action lawsuit to create a $500,000 charitable fund.

The Capital CU Charitable Giving Fund will provide grants to local non-profits starting July 1.

The credit union received a $437,000 settlement as part of a class-action lawsuit over a contaminated water supply in Freedom and will provide an additional $63,000 to establish the fund.
