Card Manager Guilty In $230,000 Fraud

PEORIA, Ill. – A former Visa card manager at CEFCU was sentenced Tuesday to a year in prison for stealing $228,453 through a two-year card fraud.

Valarie Mason, 51, used her access to other employee login IDs and passwords, opened Visa accounts, raised credit limits on some cards, including her own, and changed the mailing addresses so the card holders weren't aware, according to court records.

She then used cash advances to pay bills and expenses. Furthermore, she obtained loans in other people's names without their knowledge or consent, using that money for her expenses.
