HOUSTON – ATM provider Cardtronics yesterday reported a $1.7 million profit for its fiscal fourth quarter, helping it post a $5.8 million profit for 2009.

That compares to a $58.7 million loss for the fourth quarter of 2008 and a $72.4 million loss for fiscal 2008 for the nation’s largest independent service organization for credit unions. The major difference was a $50 million goodwill impairment charge the company took in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Revenues for the fourth quarter were up almost 6% to $124.8 million; for the full year they were flat at $493 million.
Cardtronics is the major provider of ATM services for credit unions with connections to CO-OP Financial Services, Credit Union 24 and Financial Service Cooperative Centers.
