Cardtronics Has Big Growth On Expansion

HOUSTON – Cardtronics Inc., the world’s biggest ATM operator and a key partner of credit unions, reported an 11% growth in earnings to $9.7 million for its second quarter, amid a 30% surge in revenue.

The operator of 50,000 ATMs reported revenue of $192 million, compared to $147.3 million for the second quarter last year.

Cardtronics provides critical connections to ATMs for CO-OP Financial Services and Credit Union 24, as well as the company’s subsidiary surcharge-free network Allpoint.

The company said this year’s second quarter included the installation of 960 ATMs at Valero Corner Stores; branding deals with PNC, Frost Bank and BBVA Compass; installation of 300 ATMs in 7-Eleven Canada; and, expansion of a branding deal with USAA to brand 400 ATMs near military bases.

For the first six months of the year Cardtronics reported a 34% surge in revenue to $383 million and a 28% increase in net income to $19.5 million.
