BRATTLEBORO, Vt. – Julie Rosegrant, a founder of Putney (now River Valley) CU and a long-time credit union activist, died Sunday at age 101. Rosegrant, who moved to Putney in 1942, opened the local credit union in 1946 with her husband, Robert Rosegrant. She spent many years after her retirement as a teacher doing volunteer work at the credit union, often counseling loan applicants during the lending process. She was also an avid supporter of the Putney Co-op.
