LAKE MARY, Fla. – Orange County Public Schools says it has earned about $100,000 in dividends from a three-year-old debit card “MyCFE4Schools” affinity program it has with Central Florida Educators CU.
The $1.1-billion credit union agreed to pay the local school district five cents for every transaction conducted on the credit union’s school affinity cards. The program now has 7,700 users.
The district has earned about $100,000 from the three-year-old program, and the credit union projects the partnership will bring in about $100,000 per year in future years.
CFE now offers its MyCFE4Schools program in Osceola and Seminole counties. Getting a card requires opening a CFE checking account.
