FARMINGTON, Me. -- Cass Hirschfelt, CEO of Franklin-Somerset FCU, passed away on August 26.

Hirschfelt worked in the financial services industry the majority of his life, most recently serving as CEO of the $72 million credit union.
He served in the Army, 82nd Airborne, as a special forces Green Beret and as an officer in the Kennebec Valley Chapter of CU, as well as a member the Skowhegan Rotary Club and on many boards such as the United Way, Youth and Family Services and Kennebec Valley Community College.
