Jim Norris will retire from his post as CEO of SkyPoint Federal Credit Union in April.

James Norris, president and CEO of SkyPoint Federal Credit Union, will retire on April 21.

The $213 million-asset credit union based in Germantown, Maryland, said there are no details yet on plans for Norris' successor.

Norris joined the credit union as its CEO in 2010. Prior to that, he spent four years as the chief executive of AFL-CIO Credit Union.

"Something I learned early on and have always practiced is to listen to my employees' ideas," Norris said in a press release. "While we've seen much evolution in the credit union industry over the last 42 years — specifically with technology — it's the people I've worked with along the way that have really made the difference."

In 2019, Norris spearheaded the credit union's name change from Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union to SkyPoint. That rebranding followed its conversion to a community charter.

In the 12 years under Norris' leadership, SkyPoint's net worth nearly quadrupled from $7 million to $27 million.

SkyPoint earned $1.5 million in 2022, a 58% decrease compared with a year earlier, according to call report data from the National Credit Union Administration.
