GRANITE CITY, Ill. GSC CU announced its president and CEO, Mark Holshouser, is retiring after 34 years with the credit union, the last 28 years as chief executive of the now $320-million credit union.
Keith Burton, GSC’s executive vice president who has served the credit union for 25 years, has been promoted to succeed Holshouser.
Holshouser joined the steel industry credit union in 1979 and became president in 1985, when it had just $10 million in assets and one location. GSC now serves residents of surrounding Bond, Clinton, Jersey, Macoupin, Madison, Monroe, Montgomery, Randolph, St. Clair and Washington counties in Illinois via seven full-service branches.
