Charter Oak FCU Awards $15,000 To Community Groups

GROTON, Conn. -- Charter Oak FCU has granted $15,000 to 11 local community groups.

The recipients: the Furniture Bank of Southeastern Connecticut, A Reason to Ride, Bethsaida Community, Eastern Connecticut Workforce Investment Board, Expressiones Cultural Center, United Services, Striving Towards Empowered Success, Westerly Area Rest Meals, Silverback Wrestling Club, Three Rivers Young Marines and the Little Angels Program.

Funding will be used to provide financial support to veterans in need; mentoring programs for children and adults; employment services for those needing to enter or re-enter the workforce; food for the less fortunate and arts opportunities for children and youth.
