DALLAS - At City Credit Union here, branch employees have all been relocated so as to work at the branch closest to their homes. In addition, several back-office employees are working four 10-hour days, four days per week. Senior management and some back-office associates have the opportunity to telecommute.
For members, the credit union is offering discounted “green” loans on automobiles that are EPA rated “Smart Way” or “Smart Way Elite.” A 25-basis-point discount on the prevailing loan rate is offered on both types of loan. The credit union is also encouraging direct deposit, online banking and debit cards, because all can be used without having to make an extra trip to the branch.
“City Credit Union is committed to helping our members and associates cope with the rising fuel costs,” said Sharon Moore, president/CEO. “Several associates also have the option of telecommuting and are choosing to do so.”
Moore said City CU is also encouraging its members to come to the credit union the minute they’re feeling a financial pinch. “City Credit Union offers one-on-one financial counseling with our financial education officer,” she said.
