EUREKA, Calif. – Coast Central CU gave $50,000 to five non-profits as part of its annual Community Investment Program.
The awards were: $18,000 for construction of a new Hoopa Soccer Field; $12,000 to the Two Feather Native American Family Services for a new wrestling mat; $10,000 to the Human Response Network in Weaverville for its “Assets for Independence” program; $5,000 to the Friends of Courage for production of Health Advocacy Organizers; and, $5,000 to the Emma Center for Women for group workshops.
The credit union awards $100,000 each year to assist community organizations throughout Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties. This $100,000 is divided into two separate rounds of $50,000 each. Individual awards range from a minimum of $5,000 to a maximum of $25,000 and are granted to approximately three to six organizations during each round.
