CRANSTON, R.I. – Coastway Credit Union said it will donate $100,000 to support the Kent County Memorial Hospital’s cardiac care center.
The donation will be spread out over the next five years and will come from the credit union’s Coastway Cares charitable foundation. The donation is part of a $2.8 million fundraising initiative to improve the hospital’s cardiac care center. Since the beginning of 2007, the hospital has raised $1.8 million.
Members of the 89-year-old credit union, the nation’s fourth oldest, approved the conversion of the $300 million institution to a mutual savings bank last week.
