Collections Manager Banned From CUs BY NCUA

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - The former collections supervisor for Vermont FCU was barred from the credit union industry for stealing almost $44,000 from the Burlington, Vt., credit union, NCUA said yesterday. Michael Monette was convicted of bank fraud and sentenced to four months in prison for the crime.

NCUA also banned Glenn Culler, the former president of Ackerman CU in Columbus, Ohio.

NCUA also banned Willie Brown, who was the chairman, and Dorothea Brown, who was the treasurer, of defunct Mt. Hebron Baptist FCU, in Philadelphia. The 37-year-old credit union had only $31,000 in assets and 104 members when NCUA shut it down last August.

Under NCUA prohibition orders, individuals all banned from participating in the activities of any federally insured financial institutions.
