ABILENE, Texas – Communities of Abilene FCU on Saturday donated $32,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters, the largest single donation the organization has received.
To help raise the funds, the credit union offered a Skip a Loan Payment program to its members, who could forego loan payments during November and December by donating $10 each month to the charity.
The credit union matches all donations from its members to the program.
This is the second year the credit union program has generated funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Last year it raised $21,000.
