PHOENIX - (05/04/05) -- Desert Schools FCU said it handedout seven checks of $10,000 each to local non-profit groups as partof its 2005 community giving program. The donations were awarded toArizona Saves, Banner Health Foundation, Communities In Schools ofArizona, Habitat for Humanity, HomeBase Youth Services, JuniorAchievement and Vale de Sol. The main goals of the community grantprograms are to aid low-income families and neighborhoods; helpinspire kids to stay in school; provide financial education;support homeless youth services; and build new homes for needyfamilies.
