The Illinois CU Foundation, Naperville, Ill., awarded $50,800 in Small CU Development, Community Service, Marketing & Business Development and Financial Independence Revitalization Effort grants, as well as another $22,000 in scholarships. The grants and scholarships went to a variety of Illinois credit unions.

 

Elevations CU, Boulder, Colo., moved into a much larger branch here and celebrated with a grand-reopening event.

 

Community First CU of Florida

San Mateo CU, Redwood, Calif., teamed up with the Peninsula Sunrise and Woodside/Portola Valley Rotary Clubs to make repairs to the Sequoia Children#¸

 

First Community CU, Chesterfield, Mo., participated in National CU Youth Week, inviting its 7,000 youngest members to attend a variety of events and activities the CU planned for the week.

 

San Francisco FCU began offering special Youth Accounts called Centsables for kids ages 6-12 and The Elements of Money for teens 13-17.

Arizona Central CU arranged its first litter pick-up throughout the state in observance of Earth Day. In other news, the CU partnered with the Northern Arizona Council of Government to offer the Wheels To Work program, which helps low-income people purchase a vehicle to help them get to work.

 

State Employees CU of Baltimore participated in two foreclosure prevention workshops sponsored by U.S. Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger.

 

Shell FCU, Deer Park, Texas, participated in the American Cancer Society

 

Educational Systems FCU, Greenbelt, Md., is offering the FoolProof Real Financial Education financial literacy program to all high schools in Prince George

 

American First CU, La Habra, Calif., partnered with the City of La Habra

 

PeoplesChoice CU, Saco, Maine, held its 7th Annual Polar Bear Scramble, raising $11,500 for the Maine CU
