WASHINGTON -
CUNA made the maximum allowable $10,000 contribution to Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank, the chairman of the House Financial Services Committee; Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, as well as $5,000 to Pelosi's leadership PAC, known as PAC to the Future; and to House Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina. Also, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer of Maryland received $2,500.
CUNA also contributed a total of $51,000 to a variety of leadership PACs, including $5,000 to Pelosi's PAC and to Citizens for Action PAC (Paul Kanjorski, D-PA); Battle Born PAC (Sen. John Ensign, R-NV); RAD PAC (George Radanovich, R-CA); Eureka PAC (Ken Calvert, R-CA); Mary's PAC (Mary Bono, R-CA); KING PAC (Peter King, R-NY); Searchlight Leadership Fund (Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-NV); Congressional Black Caucus PAC, Bluegrass Committee, and $1,000 to TOM PAC (Tom Davis, R-VA).
Other large contributions went to: Reps. Ben Chandler (D-KY), $5,000; Chris Cannon (D-UT), $5,000; Earl Pomeroy (D-ND), $5,000; House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH), $5,000; Ron Lewis (R-KY), $5,000; Steve LaTourette (R-OH), $5,000; and Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), $5,000.
CUNA said its PAC, by far the largest among credit unions, raised $83,000 and spent $255,000 last month, leaving it with $150,000 cash on hand.
