Crane FCU Cleared For On-Base Branch

ODON, Ind. – Crane FCU announced last week it has agreed to a request from the post commander at nearby Camp Atterbury to add a full-service branch and ATM at the camp’s Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.

Department of Defense officials said the credit union is the first financial institution selected and approved for establishing first time service on a continental DoD military installation in more than 13 years.

The first ATM already is operational at Muscatatuck. The remaining ATMs are scheduled to be stood up by October and the branch is scheduled to open in November.

The branch will operate during the week and one weekend day to accommodate inactive duty training and financial education and training. Additionally, the branch will have the ability to adjust hours when brigade-size elements arrive for training or processing.

Officials with the $310 million credit union say the 3,000 people who work at both installations and the thousands more who train here, could add as many as 4,000 to 10,000 new members.
