PORTSMOUTH, N.H.–The $12.7-million Salmon Falls Community Credit Union (founded in 1955 as Somersworth GE Employees CU) has been absorbed via merger by Service Credit Union.
GARDINER, Maine–Citing overlapping FOMs, Riverview FCU and Gardiner FCU are merging.
MADISON, Wis.–Summit Credit Union is merging with Great Wisconsin CU. The new $1-billion CU will be the state’s largest and use the GWCU charter and Summit name.
TREVOSE, Penn.–The $9-million Local 98 IBEW FCU is being absorbed via merger by the $950-million TruMark Financial CU.
WALLA WALLA, Wash.–Members of Walla Walla FCU have approved a merger with Richland, Wash.-based Gesa CU, creating a $678 million operation.
SALT LAKE CITY–Mountain America FCU is absorbing the $265-million Salt Lake CU, which lost $3.4 million in the first quarter, and the $500,000 Georgia Pacific Employees CU.
DOWNEY, Calif.–The $775-million Financial Partners CU is absorbing via merger Cannon Financial CU, a $32-million Santa Ana institution that lost $125,000 in the first quarter.
GLENDALE, Ariz.–The $320-million Credit Union West was approved to acquire Yavapai FCU, a $27-million Prescott, Ariz., credit union that lost $125,000 in the first quarter.
DALLAS–Neighborhood CU, a $250-million credit union, was approved to acquire BMA FCU, a $5-million Mesquite, Texas, CU that lost $280,000 in the first quarter.
GARLAND, Texas–The $140-million America’s CU was cleared to acquire Garland CU, a $6-million credit union that lost $14,000 in the first quarter, and $90,000 in 2007.
ROCKY HILL, Conn.–The $300-million Nutmeg State FCU was approved to acquire two nearby institutions: Manpoe FCU, a $1.2-million credit union that lost $18,000 in the first quarter, and the $8-million, Hartford-based Phoenix FCU.
GREAT FALLS, Mont.–The $900,000 Electric City FCU has been absorbed via merger by the $113-million 1st Liberty FCU. ECFCU had 335 members.
SACRAMENTO–The $7 billion The Golden 1 CU absorbed Church Co-op CU, a $6-million Sacramento credit union that lost $10,214 in the first quarter,
TINKER AFB, Okla.–The $1.7-billion Tinker FCU acquired tiny Cushing FCU.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–The $2-billion Ent FCU acquired USAlliance CU, a Denver credit union that lost $7.7 million in 2007 and $236,680 in the first quarter.
SAN DIEGO–First Future CU merged with California Coast CU, which lost $485,486 in the first quarter–creating a San Diego giant with almost $2 billion in assets.
SHARON, Mass.–Sharon CU acquired North Attleboro FCU, a $17-million credit union that lost $66,070 last year.
NEW YORK–Entertainment Industries FCU in New York merged with Associated Press FCU.
SPRINGFIELD, Ill.–Heartland FCU acquired Life CU, a $3.5-million Marion, Ill., credit union that reported an $18,000 loss for the first quarter.
DEARBORN, Mich.–USA FCU and T&C FCU merged to complete the largest credit union merger in Michigan’s history. The merged institution will operate as Genisys Credit Union and have approximately $1.2 billion in assets.
LOS ANGELES–SCE FCU and First City CU have combined to create an $800-million credit union. The merger will provide 13 branches throughout greater Los Angeles and parts of San Bernardino County. Dennis Huber, president of SCE, will head the newly created credit union, which will retain the First City name and state charter.
SYRACUSE, N.Y.–The $680-million Empower FCU will add three new branches, including its second in Fulton, with the acquisition of the $20-million NestEgg FCU.
SAN ANTONIO–The $4-billion Security Service FCU has completed its merger with the $32-million Horizon CU of Portland, Texas, adding three new service centers through the deal.
SYLVANIA, Ohio–Directions Credit Union has been chosen as the new name for the entity created by the merger of Toledo Area Community CU and Erie Shores CU.
