WRAL.com in Raleigh, N.C. did a brief on how CUs offer "some of the best deals around on car loans, home-equity loans and others, and it's become easier to avail yourself of these great opportunities than it used to be."
IT Business Edge.com ran a story about NCUA's consideration of imposing Sarbane-Oxley-like auditing regulations on credit unions. The article questioned such a move, given that the SEC is in the process of softening the rules on for-profits. And they note, the problems that gave rise to the law (Enron, Worldcom, Adelphia, etc., scandals) don't exist in the CU world.
