ELGIN, Ill. - Corporate America Family Credit Union efforts to gather supplies for local school children for next year received coverage in the Courier-News. The credit union's "Project Back Pack" collects learning or arts and crafts materials that can be used at Channing School in Elgin. The newspaper noted that a school supply list is available in the credit unions branch.

The Jacksonville Times profiled a member of Kennedy Space Center FCU who was able to dig himself out of debit using a personal loan with a 15% APR to replace the triple-digit payday loan he was behind on. The story noted KSCFCU has helped him boost his credit score and he was able to get a small business loan from KSCFCU to start a fencing business. "They gave me a chance," the member told the paper. The story also quoted NAFCU President Fred Becker on how credit unions are responding to payday lenders.
