CU Branch is Inviting To Robbers

WACO, Texas - Police are searching for a man who stole a security guard's handgun while he was robbing First Central Credit Union-the third hold-up at the credit union in five months.

In this most recent heist, the suspect stuffed a bag full of cash then fled on foot down an alley behind the building.

The suspect is on the run, possibly with two guns: the gun he carried in with him and the gun that belonged to the security officer.

Police believe the earlier robberies, in March and in June, were related, but are not sure if this one is.

Award Presented To Fairfax City

Washington-The 2007 Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run Member Donation Challenge award was presented to Cheryl Dickerson, president of Fairfax City Federa Credit Union, by leaders of Credit Union Miracle Day Inc., in Fairfax, Virginia. The credit union raised money by selling raffle tickets for a Valentines Day basket. The amount raised by applicants was divided by the number of members to determine the top winner in the Challenge, which for Fairfax City FCU was 98 cents per member.

CUMD also awards the Credit Union Cup to the top credit union running team, which this year is from Bank-Fund Staff FCU, and the Most Spirited Volunteer Team, which is from NIH FCU.
