CU Journal Online Survey

Credit Union Journal's new website at www.cujournal.com features an interactive online survey that is updated each week. On this page are some of the surveys that have been conducted so far this year. CU Journal uses these surveys to keep a finger on the pulse of the credit union movement. What changes have you seen recently in members borrowing habits:

Confident, more willing to borrow 14%

Less confident, less willing to borrow 64%

No change 23%

In situations such as the Wings Financial bid to go directly to Continental FCU members with a merger bid:

NCUA acted properly in saying bonus payments to members from capital is not allowed 54%

Except for these payments, going direct to members is OK 14%

Payment offers, merger bids should be allowed 32%

Members who join via indirect loans:

Should not be permitted 10%

Will never be more than indirect 40%

Can develop deeper relationships 50%

Boards that encounter members who object to board decisions:

Should cut off that member's account access 5%

Have no right to cut off access 76%

It's up to the individual CU 19%

For 2007, your CU's greatest focus will be on:

Branch initiatives 35%
