CU Probes White Powder In Letter Aimed At President Obama

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Investigators were searching for the person who sent a letter containing a suspicious white powder to Ohio State Highway Patrol FCU yesterday.

The letter was addressed to the credit union but referenced President Barack Obama and the government. The letter was sent via mail to the credit union.

The powder was deemed not harmful.

Investigators said that the letter, which was handwritten and copied, contained political jargon describing dissatisfaction with the administration.

The woman who opened the letter, identified as credit union CEO Becky Landis, locked herself in a room to contain the white powder to one area.

HAZMAT crews responded to the scene at about 10:30 a.m.

FBI officials as well as the Postal Inspector and the Secret Service were on the scene Thursday morning.

Investigators were still trying to determine who sent the letter.
