CU Veteran Opens Consulting Biz

TYLER, Texas - A veteran of two decades of working in credit unions, including several of the nation's largest, has opened a strategic consultancy. Ted Thames, most recently with California's Technology Credit Union, has launched his new practice, Q10 Resources, where he says he will focus on "building synergistic affiliations with well-known industry vendors and consultants," such as Connections Online from the Cardwell Group.

Thames said he is also developing an affiliate relationship with Cornerstone Advisors, the Arizona-based strategy, best practice and technology consulting firm with hundreds of banking and credit union clients. Thames said he has long been an advocate of multi-year strategies that are focused on the needs of members as the path to balance sheet and earnings growth.

"There are numerous external forces today that are leading very good credit union managers to concentrate on short-term objectives, when they should be focused on how they will compete in the future," said Thames.
