CUES, CMBDC Recognize Winners

SAN DIEGO-CUES presented its 2005 Golden Mirror Awards last week at its Nexus Conference here. CUES Chairman Gary Irvin with Shoestring Award winner Lenore Froehlich of TruWest CU, Scottsdale, Ariz., and GMA Phil Davies Best of Show winner Jon Paulson, marketing manager with First Entertainment CU, Hollywood, Calif. Also Natasha Hillier, advertising and branding manager at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, Surrey, B.C., Canada, who was not able to attend.

SAN DIEGO-For the first time, CUES recognized members of its Financial Suppliers Forum as Suppliers of the Year. The first-time winners, shown with CUES Chair Gary Irvin. Richard Weissman of The Database Marketing Agency, Portland, Ore.; Cynthia Grow of DEI, Cincinnati; Dan Cook of PEMCO Technology Services, Seattle, and Larry Blanchard of CUNA Mutual Group Madison, Wis. Four categories of firms, by number of employees, were judged on their contribution to the credit union industry, the benefits of their products and services to the movement, their role in the community and achievement in the industry.

Keryn L. Marlatt, SVP-Planning and Service with Las Vegas-based WestStar Credit Union, who was named 2005 CUES Marketer of the Year. Marlatt was nominated by her CEO, Dan Paulson, and presented with the award by 2004 Marketers of the Year, Kathryn R. Jett of UT FCU, Knoxville, Tenn., and Brett T. Noll of Langley FCU, Hampton, Va.
