CUES Honors Councils, Individuals

The Credit Union Executives Society has named its Alabama, Rocky Mountain and Michigan Councils as 2005 Outstanding Councils. In addition, CUES Alabama Council also received the award for most improved council. The announcements came during CUES' CEO Network 2005 here. Councils are divided into three categories based on their number of CUES members. CUES Alabama Council, with fewer than 75 CUES members, was presented the Glenn D. Johnson Outstanding Council Award. CUES Rocky Mountain Council received the Elmer F. Cinnater Outstanding Council Award honoring a Council with 75 to 150 CUES members. Honored with the Robert P. Garrard Award for a Council with more than 150 CUES members was the CUES Michigan Council. The three Outstanding Councils each receive $1,000 to use for future meetings and the Award of Excellence winners each receive $500. The Most Improved Council receives $750.

CUES also honored its top new-member recruiters from the past year. Mark Atwood, CEO, CPlant Federal Credit Union, Paducah, Ky.; Rudy Hanley, CEO, Orange County Teachers FCU, Santa Ana, Calif.; and Mark Hawkins, secretary, CUES board of directors and CEO, Altura Credit Union, Riverside, Calif., each recruited five to seven new CUES members over a one-year period, appointing them to the 2005 CUES Roundtable.
